TDP workers submit memorandum to Gandhiji
Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, April 27(UNI) In a unique protest, the opposition TDP workers took out a demonstration through the main streets of this coastal town and submitted a memorandum to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi ''against the corrupt practices by the Congress government.'' Waving placards, urging Gandhiji to take a re-birth to ''control the corruption the Congress party,'' they shouted slogans against the local Congress MLA. Speaking on the occasion, party leader S Chandramohan Reddy said when the TDP tried to submit a memorandum to the Mayor when the Corporation was in session, Congress leaders called the police and got the TDP workers lathicharged.
Demanding lifting of ''illegally foisted cases against TDP workers,'' he said no action was being taken on the corruption the Congress government. Hence, they were submitting a petition to the Mahatma.
