Surat district co-ordination committee settles 31 grievances
Surat, Apr 27 (UNI) District administration in Surat settled 31 grievances out of 36 cases regarding various issues, said D V Mewada, additional collector of the district.
A co-ordination committee meeting was organized yesterday to sort out various grievances.
According to Mr Mewada, many district level administrative officers participated in the 'durbar' to settle various grievances put forward by people regarding a number of issues.
Mr. Mewada also told that most of the issues were regarding complaints about the police.
Other issues like roads, health, land and water distribution also come up, he said.
The additional collector said that interestingly one of the complainant was Mr Nathuram Patel who tried to commit suicide, because one of the parties with whom he had signed an agreement with had violated the agreement.
''We are not claiming that all the issues have been settled for final. But the 'durbar' was a major step to addressing the grievances of the people,'' Mr Mewada added.
