Select metal prices up on fresh industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on fresh industrial demand, traders at the metal exchange here today said.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils hiked by Rs 300 and Rs 500 per quintal, respectively, on increase of fresh demand.
In the non-ferrous section, the rates of copper wire bars and zinc slab increased by Rs 600 and Rs 100 per quintal, respectively, on lesser stocks supply. But lead ingot fell by Rs 50 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.
The prices of tin slab went up by Rs two per kg on better buying support. But nickel cathode came down by Rs five per kg on lack of fresh demand.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 37,800, copper utensils- Rs 35,000, brass utensils- Rs 24,500, brass cuttings- Rs 26,000 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,600.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 39,600, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,600, zinc slab- Rs 19,500, lead ingots- Rs 6,850, Tin slab- Rs 540 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 1,005 (per kg).
