Royapuram Mano gets advance bail in gun license case

Chennai, Apr 27 (UNI) Madras High Court today granted anticipatory bail to Royapuram Mano, Congress nominee, seeking election from R K Nagar here, who feared arrest in connection with a gun license case.

Mr Justice K N Basha granted the relief on a petition by Mr Mano, against whom a police complaint was filed, stating he had obtained an arms licence by furnishing false information to the police.

Alleging that police failed to take action, the complainant had moved the High Court last week, following which Mr Justice M Jayapal directed city police to register a case and investigate.

Apprehending arrest, Mr Mano filed the present petition and obtained anticipatory bail. He was directed to appear before the concerned police station daily.
