New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) Describing the roadmap for restoration of democracy in Nepal as ''irreversible'', India's interlocuter Sitaram Yechury today said the process should not be disturbed as it would bring ''greater anarchy'' and called on Maoist rebels to join the political mainstream.

''The roadmap has been set up and it should not be disturbed under any circumstances. The process should continue otherwise it will lead to greater anarchy and violence,'' Mr Yechury said here during a panel discussion on 'Nepal: Challenges for India' organised by the Indian Women's press Corps here.

He said the dynamics of the political set up in Nepal had changed and no external influence could have any bearing on its political future.

''The 1990 set up of Nepal or the two pillar concept has been totally rejected by the people and that system has to go. Setting up of the Constituent Assembly is the demand of the people, its their choice,'' Mr Yechury said.

''People of Nepal have written a new chapter which is totally different from what was existing in Nepal....it will be a radically more progress system which will have no external influence. Their wishes of Republican Nepal must be respected,'' he added Mr Yechury, who leaves for two-day Kathmandu visit tomorrow, said once the interim government, led by Mr G P Koirala, takes over tomorrow its immediate task will be setting up of a Constituent Assembly and calling the Maoists for talks.

''The Government will have to announces elections, hold parleys with the Maoists and undo the mistakes of the King in the past one year by repeaingl of all the laws he enacted,'' he said.

''The Government must implement the 12-point charter agreed between the SPA and the Maoists before the movement for restoration of democracy began,'' Mr Yechury, who is visiting the Nepalese capital on the invitation of the seven-party alliance (SPA), said.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member said the Maoist must ultimately join the democratic set up and be part of the political mainstream.

''In the last few days we have realised their flexible stand by announcing a unilateral ceasefire and lifting the economic sanction on Kathmandu. They have realised that democracy in the 21st century is a reality,'' he added.

''The Maoists have realised that democracy is inseparable of any revolution in this century and the ultra Left groups should awaken to that reality,'' he said ''The Maoists have already taken the first step by announcing a three-month cease-fire. They had also played a significant role in the pro-democracy movement along with the SPA,'' He said he was going to share the ''moment of joy'' with the people of Nepal.
