PM, Karunanidhi to address joint rally on May 4
Chennai, Apr 27 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would arrive here on May four to campaign for the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) in the May eight Assembly elections.
Announcing this while addressing a campaign meeting here last night, DMK President M Karunanidhi said he and Dr Singh would address a joint election rally near the Airport on May four.
Recalling Congress President Sonia Gandhi's poll meeting here on April 25, the DMK leader said the leaders had made it a point to visit the state as the DMK-led front had the responsibility to explain the issues to the people, while seeking their votes.
Mr Karunanidhi, who was on his third leg of campaign in his home constituency, Chepauk, said he would begin the final leg in the districts, by vising Coimbatore tomorrow, before winding up electioneering in the city during the first week of May.
