Over 3000 two wheeler riders/pillion riders booked for violation

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) More than 3000 two wheeler rider/pillion riders have been booked by the Delhi Police for indulging in traffic violations like driving without helmets and triple riding.

Under a special traffic enforcement drive by the police since April 24, the police have prosecuted a total of 3159 two wheeler riders/pillion riders. While 2688 have been prosecuted for not wearing helmets, 471 have been prosecuted for triple riding.

The drive will be intensified in the coming days, the police said and warned that indulging in the above violation would entail strict prosecution and, in some cases, even result in impounding of the said vehicle.
