Officials convicted in bribe cases

Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) Special Judge for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases, Vijayawada, today convicted the personnel officer of Corporation Bank, Guntur, in a bribe case and sentenced him to RI for two years and a fine of Rs 10,000.

ACB officials had arrested S Gowri Shankar when he accepted Rs 10,000 as bribe on January 10, 1999.

In another case, Special Judge for ACB cases, Hyderebad, convicted N Shankarappa, Agricultural Officer, Anantapur District, in a bribe case and sentenced him to two years imprisonment.

Mr Shankarappa was arrested by ACB officials when he accepted Rs 5,000 as bribe on October 11, 2001, a press release said here.
