Medical students burn Arjun Singh's effigy

Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) The students of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here today burnt the effigy of Union Human Resource and Development Minister Arjun Singh in protest against the Government's proposal to extend reservation to the OBC candidates in Government educational institutions.

About 150 to 200 students of the GMCH took out a rally and shouted slogans after burning the effigy of the HRD Minister against the policies of the Union Government and condemned the police action on striking doctors in Delhi yesterday.

Later the medical students submitted a memorandum to Lalit Shastri, advisor to UT Administrator and Governor of Punjab Gen S F Rodriques in this regard.
