MCX index closes 18.68 pts down at 2,318.05

Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded a turnover of Rs 3,491.17 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,318.05 down by 18.68 points (-0.81 per cent). MCX has recorded a turnover of Rs 3,491.17 crore while the total trades registered were 51,061.

The MCX metal index was up by 49.59 points (-1.89 per cent), while its agri index was the lone gainer by 25.57 points (1.57 per cent). MCX energy index was also down by 49.59 points (-1.89 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 2,503.85 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 1,408.32 crore and MCX silver Rs 1,095.53 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 29,904. The open interest for gold was 10,455 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 3,62,255 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 392.23 crore with 8,324 trades, while in the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 83.75 crore with open interest of 5,85,800 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows - urad registered a turnover of Rs 84.00 crore with 1,408 trades, chana registered a turnover of Rs 27.30 crore with 683 trades, tur recorded a turnover of Rs 11.20 crore with 463 trades while masur registered a turnover of Rs 17.24 crore with 585 trades.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 22.27 crore with 805 trades while mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 30.57 crore with 1,716 trades.
