K'taka HC grants interim bail to Ex-Speaker in murder case

Bangalore, Apr 27 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today granted interim bail to former Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar till the disposal of the petition filed by him seeking anticipatory bail in the case relating to the murder of one Shyamashankara Reddy.

The Judicial Magistrate First Class of Srinivasapur had issued non-bailable warrant for the arrest of Mr Kumar in connection with the case.

After hearing the parties, Vacation Judge N K Patil said the petitioner-accused should not be arrested pending final disposal of the anticipatory bail petition and adjourned the further hearing of the petition to May 30.

The bail was granted on the usual terms that the accused should attend the police station and cooperate with investigation. He should not leave the state and tamper with evidence.
