Koreans keen to set up projects in Haryana

Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) Visiting Korean businessmen have evinced interest in setting up projects relating to construction waste treatment and food processing units in Haryana.

An 18-member high level Korean business delegation headed by Chairman of Korea SMES Hybrid Business Gangwon Association Hwang Ok Hyun visited the Haryana Investment Promotion Centre and expressed interest in setting up of projects relating to these areas.

Meanwhile, the Korea SMES Hybrid Business Gangwon Association and the Haryana Investment Promotion Centre in New Delhi today signed a Letter of Intent for making ''sincere efforts to cooperate and exchange information relating to 'business extention'.

Mr Hyun and Chief Coordinator of Haryana Investment Promotion Centre Ashok Lavasa, signed the Letter of Intent in New Delhi, an official spokesman here said.

Mr Lavasa is also the Resident Commissioner of Haryana Government in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Mr Lavasa apprised the delegation about the provision of time-bound clearances as per the Industrial Promotion Act-2005 in Haryana and assured them support and assistance on behalf of Haryana government.

Mr Lavasa said that the Haryana government had also introduced self certification scheme and outsourcing of authority for facilitating the investors in the state.

He said four new industrial model townships at strategic locations namely Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak and Ambala were being developed.

Keeping in view the heavy demand in NCR region, the Haryana government would be developing three new modern cities at Sampla, Badli-Janhangirpur and Gannaur-Samalkha, he said.

The signing of the Letter of Intent between the Korea Smes Hybrid Business Gangwon Association in Gangwon-Do, the Republic of Korea and Haryana Investment Promotion Centre will further strengthen the bond between Haryana and the Republic of Korea, he added.
