Jyoti Basu casts vote at Salt Lake

Barasat, Apr 27 (UNI) Former West Bengal chief minister Jyoti Basu today exercised his franchise at a booth in Prakash Bhawan in Salt Lake area under Belgachia East constituency from where state Transport and Sports Minister Subhas Chakravarty is seeking re-election.

Asked to comment on the polling, Mr Basu said, ''I do not want to remark in front of camera.'' Mr Basu was accompanied by Mr Chakravarty and his wife Ramala Chakravarty.

Earlier, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Debasish Sen could not cast his vote at the same booth following a technical snag in the EVM.
