Jhansi swelters at 43 degrees
Lucknow, Apr 27 (UNI) The mercury continued its northward journey in Uttar Pradesh, that saw Jhansi record the maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius (+2) in the last 24 hrs.
The heatwave is compounded by the prevailing power crisis in UP resulting in scheduled and unscheduled rostering even in the state capital for long hours.
According to the met office here, Lucknow recorded the maximum temperature of 40 (+1) degrees.
Apart from Jhansi, the mercury was soaring above normal temperatures in Allababad, Varanasi, Bareilly and Lucknow divisions.
In the next 24 hrs, the weather is likely to remain dry at most places. However, some a couple of places might witness light thundershowers.
