Haryana notification on red light atop official vehicles

Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to authorise state dignitaries and senior officers to use red light with flasher atop their official vehicles under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

Among the persons entitled to use red light are Governor, Chief Minister, Chief Justice, all Cabinet and State Ministers, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha.

Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Members of Parliament and Haryana State Legislative Assembly, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Parliamentary Secretaries, State Election Commissioner and Chief Secretary were the others entited for the privelege.

Similarly, all Financial Commissioners and Principal Secretaries, Administrative Secretaries, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Director General of Police, all Additional Director Generals of Police, DIGs, Advocate General, Chairmen of Haryana Public Service Commission and Staff Selection Commission, Commisioners of Divisions, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, Registrar, Punjab and Haryana High Court have also been included in the notification.

District and Sessions Judges, Chief Commissioner, Income Tax or equivalent, Accountant General(Audit/Accounts), Haryana, Leader of Opposition, President and Working President of ruiling political party, Chairman of Zila Parishad and Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Faridabad have also been kept in this category.
