Gulbarga bandh evokes mixed response

Gulbarga, Apr 27 (UNI) The Gulbarga bandh call given by the Karnataka State Government Daily Wage Employees Association demanding regularisation of their services, evoked mixed response with government offices and banks functioning, while commercial establishments remained closed today.

Buses were off the road putting travelling public into hardship, Hotel and other business establishments had downed their shutters.

Police said that no untoward incident has been reported.

Meanwhile, the fast unto death by the Association Honorary President Chandra Sekhar Hiremath, entered the fourth day. A team of government doctors visited the leaders and conducted routine tests.

The government and semi-government daily wagers have been agitating for the last 406 days demanding regularisation of their services.
