GAIL's annual subsidy burden drops by 6.4 pc

Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) State-owned gas transporter GAIL India Ltd has announced that its annual subsidy burden has come down by 6.4 per cent for the financial year 2005-06 on year-on-year (YOY) basis.

Informing the BSE, the company said as against a sum of Rs 1,137 crore as subsidy share out during 2004-05, its current year subsidy burden is Rs 1,064 crore.

However, during the fourth quarter of 2005-06, the company's subsidy share is to the tune of Rs 538 crore.

Regarding the news on stock split, the company clarified that there is neither any communication from the Ministry in this regard nor the subject matter is before the company's board.
