E-Governance blue-print reviewed

Aizawl, Apr 27 (UNI) Representatives from various government departments of Mizoram today reviewed the E-Governance roadmap in the state under the aegis of the directorate of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) wing.

The state government had signed an agreement with the IT consultancy firm Price Waterhouse Coopers last year in November for initiating the E-Governance programme in Mizoram and a meeting on what steps should be taken had been held.

At present a detailed project report on capacity building has been sent to the Centre for approval.

The project includes creation of software packages for each department of the state for their particular needs.

As part of the programme, a video conferencing centre is nearly complete through which each district deputy commissioner would be connected to the chief minister.
