Court refuses advance bail to IGIMS director

Patna, Apr 27 (UNI) Special vigilance judge of Patna Ram Niwas Prasad today rejected the anticipatory bail plea of five people, including director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, Dr D K Yadav, in a case of irregularities committed in purchase of a machine.

The designated judge after hearing both sides refused to grant anticipatory bail to Dr Yadav, Dr Subhash Prasad, Dr Mrinal Anand, financial advisor IGIMS S R Gayeen and agent of the company Neel Mohan, who supplied the machine.

The case is related to financial irregularities committed in purchase of Excimer Laser Machine for eye department of IGIMS in 1996.

Ten people were named accused in the FIR registered this year by vigilance department, including the former commissioner cum secretary of health education department of Bihar C.K.Basu.
