Congress describes third phase polling as peaceful

Kolkata, Apr 27 (UNI) The Congress today described as peaceful the third phase Assembly elections to 76 seats in Kolkata and South and North-24 Parganas districts.

'' The election was absolutely peaceful and we are expecting that the party would fare better this time. We are satisfied with the Election Commissioner's performance, '' Pradesh Congress Committee working president Pradip Bhattacharjee here said.

The ruling CPI(M) tried to create disturbance in one or two places but did not succeed due to the para military forces, he alleged.
