Coffee Day set for major expansion down South

Chennai, Apr 27 (UNI) Coffe Day 'fresh n Ground', the country's largest filter coffee powder retail chain is embarking on a major expansion of its chain in the Southern states by opening 100 new stores planned during the current fiscal.

Mr C J Jayanth Business head of the company told newsmen here that out of the 100 new stores, 60 will be on Tamil Nadu, 25 in Karnataka, ten in Andhra Pradesh and five in Kerala.

He said recently Coffee Day opened a wide network of over 370 stores to supply 22 exquisite blends of fresh grounded filter coffee powder and accessories across Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

About 70 per cent of these stores were self-owned while the others were franchisees, all of which were closely serviced by fresh 'n ground's supply network, he said.

He said they planned to introduce another product 'Coffee Day Perfect' in the other southern states and make it available in over 50,000 retail outlets in the next 12 months, he added.

He said Coffee Day Fresh'n was part of Amalgamated bean Coffee Trading , a Rs 300 crore ISO9002 certified company with over 5500 acres of coffee estate catering to the export and domestic markets.

He said they were the largest retail chain in the roast and ground filter coffee segement reaching over four lakh homes every month in the Southern States.
