CM tells officials to ensure power supply

Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has directed the officials to fill up about 7,000 Junior Line Man (JLM) posts on Contract basis in order to provide better services to rural consumers and for speedy redressal of complaints.

While reviewing power supply position and generation with CMD, APTRANSCO, and other officials, Dr Reddy told the officials to ensure the availability of power during summer.

The Chief Minister said that money was not a constraint, and power should be procured from all possible sources.

The Company CMD Racchel Chaterji informed the Chief Minister that current drawals were around 155 MU per day and the peak demand of 7,000 MW was being met.

The energy handled upto April 25 is 4001 MU, an increase of 10.23 per cent over last year.

Ms Chaterji informed Dr Reddy that demand of 8,239 MW had reached during the current rabi season, which is 8.22 per cent more than last year.
