CM directs APGENCO to commission RTPP ahead of schedule

Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy reviewed the performance of the ongoing projects of APGENCO at a meeting held on April 27 and expressed satisfaction that APGENCO has generated 28,751 MU against a target of 28,495 MU during the year 2005-06 and achief 101% of the target.

Despite backing down, APGENCO thermal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor of 80%,. Srisailam Left Bank Power HOuse UNits were operated for pumping water into the upstream of the Srisailam reservoir and lifted 336TMC of water back into the Srisailam reservoir which was used to generate 200 MU of energy.

He also expressed satisfaction that the Unit III of VTPS has achieved a national record of continuous running of 441 days.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing projects of 420 MW Rayalaseema TPP Stage II, 2334 MW Priyadarshini Jurala HEP, 500 MW Vijayawada TPP Stage IV, 500 MW Bhoopalapalli TPP, 500 MW Kothagudem TPP Stage VI, 1600 MW Krishnapatnam TPP and 2100 MW gas based combined cycle power project at Karimnagar.

He directed APGENCO to ensure that Unit III of RTPP is commissioned one month ahead of schedule i.e. by August, 2006 and unit IV by November, 2006 to meet the growing power demand during this year.

He also directed that Jurala HEP should be commissioned as per schedule by March, 2007.
