China confirms 18th human bird flu case-Xinhua

SHANGHAI, Apr 27 (Reuters) An eight-year-old girl has been infected with the deadly H5N1 strain of the bird flu, China's Xinhua news agency reported today, citing the country's Ministry of Health.

The new case, in southeast China's Sichuan province, brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 18, according to earlier data.
