CEO victim of EVM malfunction

Kolkata, Apr 27 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Debashis Sen became the first victim of EVM snag when he went to cast his vote in Salt Lake in Belgachia East Constituency today.

The CEO went to cast his vote at Prakash Bhavan and found that the EVM machine was not functioning properly.

Talking to UNI, he said, ''The machine not functioning properly and so I could not vote.'' ''However, it was replaced very quickly and voting is continuing now in that booth. I will go later in the day and vote.'' It is the same booth where veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu will cast his vote.
