Blue Dart Q1 net up 90.68 pc to Rs 18.21 crore
Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) Blue Dart Express Ltd, a courier and logistics company, has posted a net profit of Rs 18.21 crore for the quarter ended March 31, as compared to Rs 9.55 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, showing a jump of 90.68 per cent.
Announcing the results, the company said its total income for the quarter under review stood at Rs 151.97 crore, an increase of 25.15 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Commenting on the performance, Blue Dart Express Managing Director Malcolm Monteiro said, ''The year 2006 will be one of consolidation and expansion. In this quarter, we have initiated our investments in infrastructure and services, which will continue through the year, to strengthen our position as the market leader.'' The company, he continued, is expanding its presence and have announced the launch of new facilities at Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai, besides eight new offices and a new service centre at Pune to strengthen its integrated air and surface operations.
