BJP conedemns lathicharge on medical students

New Delhi, Apr 27: The BJP today condemned the lathicharge on striking doctors protesting against the Government's proposal to extend reservation to the OBCs in engineering and medical colleges.

Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said the party was in favour of bringing the neglected sections of society to mainstream, but HRD Minister Arjun Singh's proposal had nothing least to do with the welfare of the poor.

The proposed legislation seemed to be prompted by the tussle between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Mr Singh, he added.
