BCC concerned over rise in criminal activities in Bihar

Patna, Apr 27 (UNI) The Bihar Chamber of Commerce (BCC) has expressed concern over the recent rise in criminal activities in Patna and other parts of the state.

Chamber's President M.L.Khetan said here today that the crime situation, which had shown considerable improvement in the recent past, has once again deteriorated and needs to be dealt strongly.

As usual the criminals have made the members of the business community their soft target.

It has become imperative for the police administration to give a thorough review to its system to ensure proper security of lives and properties of all citizens, he added.

He pointed out at the murder of a trader of Kanakarbagh locality in Patna, abduction of a catering businessman in the city, criminal attacks and robbery at Danapur yesterday.

He said it appears that the criminals were bent upon disrupting the developmental activities and reforms initiated by the government by creating fear psychosis.

The Chamber's President has appealed to the government to take all possible steps to put an immediate and effective curb on such criminal activities.

He said the image of a developing and safe Bihar is necessary to bring investors in the state.
