Bail plea of Anees's cook, Jabrail Khan rejected

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) A city court today rejected the bail plea of Jabrail Khan, Don Anees's cook, who was arrested by Delhi police on April 11 in connection with cheating, forgery as well as offences related to the Passport Act.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Kamini Lau rejected the bail application of Khan, co-accused Ibrahim and Raju, who were stated to be the main agents responsible for sending Khan to Karachi.

The counsel for the accused, Asghar Khan while seeking bail argued that sufficient time was given to the investigating officer for interrogation, and there was no point in keeping him in custody again.

Khan was arrested by the Delhi Police from IGI airport on April 11, after he arrived here from Karachi while allegedly travelling with forged stamps on the passport.

He told the interrogators that the global terrorist and mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Dawood Ibrahim, used to visit his brother Anees in Karachi.

He came back to India after Anees had thrown him out of job due to medical reasons, the sources said.

Khan, a native of Bahriach in Uttar Pradesh, was residing in Karachi for several years and was employed by Anees.

He was arrested under sections 420 (Cheating), 468 (Forgery for the purpose of Cheating), 471 (Using Forged documents as Genuine) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 12 of the Passport Act.
