Air Deccan makes Thiruvananthapuram another base
Bangalore, Apr 27 (UNI) India's leading low cost flier Air Deccan, today announced Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala as its seventh base in the country.
In a release here, the airline, which was already operating daily flights to Chennai and Bangalore from the Kerala State capital, said that a brand new A 320 aircraft was based in Thiruvananthapuram and daily flights to New Delhi via Chennai and Mumbai via Kochi started from today.
Air Deccan already had bases in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Air Deccan Chief Revenue Officer John Kuruvilla, commenting on the new base, said ''Thiruvananthapuram will be a major hub for our operations. To start with, we will base an airbus there and subsequently some ATRs. We are looking at expanding our operations and flying to more cities within Kerala and also connecting Kerala with other states.'' UNI VK RG MP RK1721
