Advani urges BJP cadre to overcome instability

Bhopal, Apr 27: Senior BJP leader L K Advani has admitted that ''instability'' pervaded the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh recently and urged the party cadre to concentrate on good governance and development.

Congratulating Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his cabinet colleagues for the achievements, Mr Advani said by and large he was impressed by the performance of the BJP government in the state, but a ''lot more still needed to be done.'' ''The BJP governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other states were making sincere efforts to fulfill the election promises,'' he told a news conference here during his Bharat Suraksha Yatra.

Mr Advani clarified that his reference to the ''instability'' in the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh related to the period when the Chief Minister was changed. He,however, declined to give ''ranking'' on the performance of the three chief ministers that the state had witnessed in as many years.

In Madhya Pradesh, he said, the party organisation held much influence and the credit for creating such strength went to former party chief Kushabhau Thakre.

He also declined to comment on expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti's allegations against the BJP, saying he would not react on the comments of those, who had left or were expelled from the party on disciplinary grounds.
