Vasco draws with SBT 2-2

Bangalore, Apr 26 (UNI) State Bank of Travancore scripted a 2-2 draw against fancied Vasco Sports Club in the Second Division ONGC Cup 10th National Football League Final Round here today.

The Bankmen, who led 1-0 at half time, conceded two goals to Vasco before coming back strongly to score the equaliser at the fag end of the match.

Though the Goans played an attacking game, the Bankmen succeeded in opening the account through T Asif Shaheer who brilliantly scored a solo goal in the 32nd minute.

Vasco striker Anthony Pereira scored the equaliser in the 54th minute, encashing on a pass by Denis Cabral through a superb shot from 22 yards from the post. Goans took the lead when substitute Agnelo D'Souza netted the ball, heading a pass by Queterio Pango in the 70th minute.

However, a determined bankmen equalised when substitute M Mohammed Rafi scored in the fag end of the match to share points with the Goans.

The Goans were reduced to 10 men as Agnelo D'Souza was sent off by Referee Chamchuk Lama of Sikkim in the 83rd minute for questioning his decision of showing a yellow card for obstructing an opponent player.
