Two customs officials abducted in Meghalaya

Shillong, Apr (UNI) Two customs officials were abducted this morning by unidentified gunmen in the West Garo Hills district, police said.

The incident took place at Gasupara at around 5.30 in the morning. However, nobody had taken responsibility for the kidnapping.

''The officials were abducted from Gasupara area early in the morning. We are yet to identify the two missing officials and no outfit has claimed responsibility for it till now,'' West Garo Hills Additional Superintendent of Police D P Marak told UNI over phone.

''We have rushed our men to the spot, which is about 50 km away from the nearest police station at Baghmara,'' said the official.
