Top priority for farmers' welfare: CM
Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh, April 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his government has been giving top priority to farmers' welfare.
Addressing a meeting after laying the foundation stone for the beautification of the Ramadugu tank at Dichpalli in this district as part of his ongoing 'Prajapadham' programme, Dr Reddy said his government was making a massive effort to provide irrigation water for every inch of agriculture land.
He said the total neglect of the agriculturale sector during the previous TDP regime was responsible for the woes of the farmers, leading to suicides.
Dr Reddy said water would be provided to 90,000 acres of land through Alisagar and other projects in this district.
He said a University would also be set up in the district.
