Sri Ravishankar gets 'Love of Life' Award
Bangalore Apr 26 (UNI) Founder of Art of Living Foundation, Sri Ravi Shankar was awarded with the Fervent Global Love of Life Award in Taiwan during his 11-day tour of South East Asian Nations.
The award was handed over by Chou Ta-Kuan, founder of the Cultural and Education Foundation of Human Life.
''Over 30 million people in over 151 countries have been blessed with love and health from Guruji. Through his own actions, Sri Sri has shown us a way of life that brings out human values in all of us which is beyond religion,'' a press release from the Art of Living Foundation quoted Mr Ta-Kuan here.
Sri Ravi Shankar was welcomed in the Presidential Palace by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Responding to the concerns over the rising level of delusion over lack of employment, Sri Ravishankar offered to train batches of youth from Indonesia at the Art of Living International Centre in Bangalore.
In his response, the President suggested that the villages in Merauke in the province of Papua could be developed by the Art of Living as a model as youth there need immediate attention following the recent episode of 32 Indonesians seeking political asylum in Australia.
Sri Ravishankar said the Art of Living Foundation could work with the Indonesian authorities in the areas of organic farming as 75 per cent of the population of both Indonesia and India were farmers.
He also stressed on the synergy between India and Indonesia in the field of herbal medicine as Indonesia is rich in herbs.
