Section 144 in Baramulla on counting eve

Baramulla, Apr 26 (UNI) The authorities have imposed prohibitory orders in north Kashmir district of Baramulla today on the eve of counting of votes for three Assembly constituencies of Pattan, Sangrama and Rafiabad, by-elections for which were held on April 24.

The District Election Officer, Baramulla, who is also the District Magistrate, has imposed section 144 in the entire district for a period of one week.

The orders would also be in force in and around the premises of Degree College, Baramulla, where the counting of votes will be held.

The District Election Officer said the counting of votes for will be taken up at 0800 hrs tomorrow morning.

The results are expected to be declared by the afternoon.
