KARACHI, April 26 (Reuters) - Pakistan's leading private power producer, Hub Power Co. Ltd. (Hubco) , on Wednesday reported a 47.7 percent decline in nine-month profit, as tariffs declined following repayment of its senior debt.

Post-tax profit for the nine months to March 31 fell to 2.06 billion rupees ($34.3 million), from 3.94 billion in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement to the Karachi Stock Exchange <.kse>.

The result was broadly in line with analysts' expectations.

Britain's International Power Plc owns 16.6 percent of Hubco, which operates a 1,292-megawatt thermal power plant near the southern industrial city of Karachi.
