NJP to campaign for DPA candidates

Pondicherry, Apr 26(UNI) The New Justice Party (NJP)here will canvas in support of the Congress-led Democratic Progressive Alliance(DPA) candidates from April 30, party president S Ponnurangam said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the party had initially decided to support the AIADMK-led Democratic People's Alliance(DPA), but changed its decision as the AIADMK and PMC had not given any consideration to the party.

Mr Ponnurangam said Chief Minister N Rangasamy had requested them to support the Congress-led Front. Following this, the party had changed its stance and all the three NJP candidates were withdrawn from the fray in support of the alliance partners.

He showered praises on Mr Rangasamy for his good governance for the last five years.
