Software packages for E-Governance in the offing
Aizawl, Apr 26 : The state Planning Department's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) wing is currently in the process of preparing new software packages in E-Governance for use by different departments of the state.
According to sources in the ICT, the department has developed two Office Automation Procedure (OAP) software packages for use by two different government departments.
It is currently also working in other OAP softwares which are being prepared according to the needs of a department.
Since the cost of purchasing these OAP packages is very high in the open market as a result of which the state government had decided to prepare its own packages.
The OAPs would make file movements easier to follow as well as cutting red tapes down to an acceptable level.
The ICT wing is also in the process of preparing a software package for use in obtaining information in conformation with the Right to Information Act 2005.
With this package, people would be able to obtain information easily online.
Another package in the pipeline is an employment Online Registration. With this, people would be able to register themselves in Employment Exchanges through the internet without having to bother with going to the office in person, the sources added.
