Mitsubishi wins Prestigious Elevator contracts
Hyderabad, Apr 26 (UNI) With big contract wins from major infrastructure projects, Mitsubishi Electrics(ME) will have 150 rpt 150 Hi-end elevators and escalators in operation in various entertainment, office and shopping complex including International Airport Project in Hyderabad (HIAL) by end of the year 2006.
The biggest contract was from HIAL to install 23 Escalators and 29 Elevators worth Rs 17 crores slated for erection in Y 2007.
ME is targeting the Indian market mainly with its high-quality and high-speed model elevators, a technological strength of the company, senior General Manager, ETA Melco LLC, Dubai Mr A Sayeed told the media here today.
ETA Melco estimates a requirement of about 6000 units per year in the Hi-End domestic market currently and expects it to grow even further given the growth in economy and expenditure in infrastructure project. ETA Melco Engineering, which began its operations in India in 1994, has so far sold about 2500 units and its revenue is around Rs 250 crore. ETA Melco aims to reach 300 units installation by Y 2008 in Andhra Pradesh Market.
ETA-Melco Elevators Co., LLC, a Joint Venture between MECorporation, Japan, and ETA-Melco, product division of ETA-Ascon group carries out marketing, installation and maintenance of Mitsubishi elevators and escalators in India. The company has posted an annual turnover of over USD 2.5 billion and a workforce of 40,000. ETA Melco Elevator Company is the sole distributor of Mitsubishi elevators and escalators in 15 countries in the Middle East, the Indian sub continent and CIS Countries. For the Indian market, ETA Melco imports elevators and escalators from Mitsubishi's plants in Japan and Thailand.
