Indian National Karting Championship calendar announced
Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) The Motorsports Association of India, the National Sporting Authority (ASN) of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in India and a member of the Commission International de Karting (CIK), which is the Commission of the FIA that deals with world karting, has announced the MRF-MAI Indian National Karting Championship (INKC) calendar for this year.
The calendar, which comprises a total of five rounds, will zoom off with the first round in Goa from May 19 to 21 and finish with the concluding round in Mumbai from December 8 to 10, a release issued here today stated.
The season will see the use of brand new karts, which will use the Formule Mondiale frame and the GX 390 cc Honda engine.
Privateers owning karts that meet the technical regulations can also participate in the Championship.
The INKC will consist of three classes, namely the Indian National Karting Championship (INKC), open to drivers 15 years and above, the Kadet Indian National Karting Championship (K-INKC) for drivers between 12 and 15 years of age and the Karting Champion's Trophy (KCT), which will be for novice drivers, the release added.
Following is the final karting calendar for 2006: May19 to 21, 2006 at Goa; June 2 to 4 at Coimbatore; October 13 to 15 at Hyderabad; November 24 to 26 at Nagpur; December 8-10 at Mumbai.
