HC asks report on Ranvir Sena Supremo
Patna, Apr 26 (UNI) Patna High Court today asked the counsel for the chief of a private army of landlords Ranvir Sena, Brahameshwar Nath Singh alias Mukhiyaji to file an affidavit giving details of cases in which the supremo had been made accused.
After hearing arguments on a regular bail petition filed by Ranvir Sena supremo, a single bench of High Court comprising Justice Aftab Alam asked the counsel to file the affidavit within one week.
The petitioners counsel Ram Suresh Rai said his client was arrested in Patna in August, 2002 and was lodged in Beur Model Central Jail.
Mr Rai said Brahameshwar Nath Singh was not initially named in an FIR filed in connection with exchange of fire between activists of CPI (ML) and Ranvir Sena at Sahar in Bhojpur district in 1996 but the police included his name in the FIR with a malafide intention.
The counsel for the prosecution side, Dwivedi Surendra said that four people were killed in the said incident and the Ranvir Sena supremo was directly involved in it and hence his bail petition could not be accepted. He noted that his bail petitions had been rejected by Patna High Court twice.
