Governor to inaugurate China Investment Trade Development Conference

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna will inaugurate tomorrow a three day 'China Investment and Trade Development Conference,' organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies and India China Economic and Cultural Council at Nehru Centre, Worli, in south central Mumbai.

A release issued by Raj Bhavan said the conference is the first event celebrating the India China year of Friendship. The government and the leading businesses would be well represented at the conference.

India and China, the two largest nations of the world and also the fastest growing economies, are celebrating 2006 as the year of friendship. There is a growing feeling in both countries that the theme of bilateral relations should be 'India plus China' rather than 'India versus China', the release said.

The conference would be attended by Dr Abid Hussain, Chairman India China Economic Cultural Council (ICECC), Mr Song Deheng, Counsel General of China, Mr Wang Jinzhen, Vice Chairman, China Council for Internal Trade, Mr P S Deodhar, former Advisor in Electronics to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Secretary General, ICECC, the release added.
