Fire at PM's 7, Race Cource Road residence

New Delhi, Apr 26: A fire broke out at the Prime Minister's residence at Race Course Road this afternoon.

The Special Protection Group, looking after the security of the Prime Minister, took control over the situation soon after the 'minor fire' broke out at about 1350 hrs, according to a senior police official.

From what is being heard the fire took place a little away from the actual residence area of the Prime Minister. ''It was in a separate area inside 7, RCR.'' The local police has not been allowed to go inside and the SPG is taking care, he said.

Five fire tenders have been seen going inside the 7, Race Cource Road premises, the officer added.
