Empee Sugars records 27 p c profit rise

Chennai, Apr 26 (UNI) The city-based Empee Sugars and Chemicals Ltd has reported a 27 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 3.6 crore for the third quarter ended March one, 2006.

For the nine months ended March 31, the company's net profit shot up by 368 per cent to Rs 8.47 crore compared to Rs 1.81 crore for the corresponding period the previous year, a company release here said.

Net sales in the nine months stood at Rs 69.16 crore, registering an increase of 80 per cent, compared to Rs 38.38 per cent for the corresponding nine months of the previous year, it said.
