CISF to provide security for VIPs: ADG

Hyderabad, Apr 26 (UNI) The Central Industrial Security Force(CISF) would now provide security to VIPs in the country also, Central Industrial Security Force Additional Director General C B Satpathy said today.

Talking to newspersons here Mr Satpathy, who was here in connection with the Regional Networking Conference on Disaster Management at the National Industrial Security Academy, said as many as 1500 recquits were drafted from the CISF and sister organisations and provided elaborate training for the purpose.

Already, the CISF was providing security cover to seven VIPs, he said.

The CISF had taken over 50 airports in the country and the remaining airports would be covered in a phased manner, he said, adding that in addition to the security cover provided to over 250 Public Sector Undertakings, the over 94,000 personnel strong CISF was guarding important Government buildings.

As many as eight battalions were designated for Disaster Management, he added.
