CCP reiterates support to peace process

Kohima, Apr 26 (UNI) The Consultative Committee for Peace (CCP), which met here yesterday, has welcomed the extension of ceasefire between the Centre and the NSCN(K) for a period of one year from April 29.

The CCP was constituted by the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) to facilitate the ongoing peace process between both the factions of the NSCN and the union Government in consultation with all the underground factions through its equi-closeness policy.

Yesterday's meeting has appealed to both the Centre and the NSCN to display sincerity and commitment in their efforts to find an amicable and acceptable solution to the Naga political issue.

The committee has also welcomed the decision of the Naga Hoho to reconstitute the Reconciliation Committee to pursue unity and reconciliation amongst all Naga national workers (underground factions) and to facilitate the peace process.

Reiterating its support to the ongoing peace process, the committee also appealed to all the factions of Naga underground to maintain peace amongst themselves, according to a press statement by principal secretary (Home) Banuo Z. Zamir.
