Capital records Max at 40.6 degree Celsius, Min at 25.1
New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) The mercury in the Capital today continued to rise with the maximum temperature recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 25.1 degrees Celsius, marking the return of a hot summer in the coming days.
While the maximum was three degrees above normal the minimum surpassed the normal by two degrees.
The rise in mercury could continue in the coming days with weathermen forecasting a partly clear sky with dust haze and thunder storm accompanied with squalls in some areas in the evening.
The weather office has predicted a further rise in mercury tomorrow.
The rising trend in mercury is due to the dissipation of the upper air cyclonic movement that had contributed to pleasant weather in Delhi in the second week of April.
The upper air cyclonic storm, originating from Rajasthan, had moved away from the Capital since April 21, setting off a series of dry winds over the Capital.
