425 units sealed on 20th day

New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) The MCD sealed 425 properties and commercial units on the 20th day today even as the traders continued to demand legislation to halt the drive.

While the maximum-- 146 units-- were sealed in West Delhi, 75 were sealed in Civil Lines, 62 in Central district and 52 in Shahdara (South) till 1700 hrs.

The MCD put to seal 50 units in Rohini, 28 in Shahdara (North), eight in Karol Bagh and four in Sadar Paharganj.

With today's sealing, a total of 7,769 units and properties in the residential areas have been sealed since the operation began on March 29.

Sealing action has already been completed in the city area.

Meanwhile, the traders met the Tejinder Khanna Committee today where they submitted a memorandum and white paper on unauthorised constructions and position of business establishments operating in residential areas of Delhi.

The traders will meet Home Minister Shivraj Patil tomorrow.
