4 robbers arrested

Surat, Apr 26 (UNI) Four members of a gang, suspected to be involved in robbing a city post office to the tune of Rs 1.13 lakh last year, have been arrested by the Detection of Crime Branch sleuths.

Three of the robbers were arrested from the city while the fourth was arrested from Bihar. The arrested have been identified as Sunil Yadav, Rajkumar Yadav and Ashok Kumar (all arested from the city) and Joginder Yadav (arrested from Bihar). A fifth accused, Sashi Yadav, is still absconding.

The police have seized weapons and cartridges from the possession of those arrested.

A five-member gang had looted the Sanjay Nagar Post Office here after holding the staff at gun point and made away with Rs 1.13 lakh in cash in August last year.
